Advancing Science Diplomacy: The Embassy’s Economic Team Strengthens Strategic Partnerships in Trondheim

The Embassy’s Economic Team, together with the Lithuanian Honorary Consul in Trondheim, representatives from Klaipėda University and the Lithuanian–Norwegian Chamber of Commerce visited Norway’s leading centre for research, innovation, and technology development in Trondheim.

The visit provided an opportunity to advance science diplomacy and strengthen cooperation with key Norwegian institutions. The delegation met with NTNU, Norway’s largest university; SINTEF, one of Europe’s top research institutes; Enova, which plays an important role in supporting Norway’s green transition; the Trondheim Chamber of Commerce; and innovation experts and businesses. These meetings helped identify new possibilities for collaboration in areas important for Lithuania’s long-term goals, including research, innovation, and sustainable industry development.

The discussions in Trondheim confirmed that strong partnerships based on shared interests and scientific excellence are essential for addressing today’s global challenges. By engaging with Norway’s leading research and innovation community, the Embassy continues to build Lithuania’s presence in international networks and support cooperation that benefits both countries.
