Norway added to the list of countries most affected by the coronavirus infection

The list of countries most affected by the coronavirus infection (COVID-19) was updated on Friday, 18 September, to take effect as of 21 September. Norwayhas been added to the list of affected countries, as coronavirus incidence rate has gone above 25 cases per 100 000 population over the last 14 days. Persons arriving from or transiting through the affected countries are required to self-isolate.

Persons who have returned or arrived from countries on the list of countries most affected by coronavirus infection or who have travelled through these countries shall be deemed to have been exposed to the virus. Isolation will be mandatory in their case. Isolation however will not be mandatory for those who travel by air without leaving the airport transit area.

Foreigners arriving from the countries on the list of countries affected by coronavirus infection with the incidence rate above 25 cases over the last 14 days, must have a test for COVID-19 (coronavirus infection) taken at maximum 72 hours before the entry to Lithuania and negative results thereof, except cases provided for in the order of the Minister for Health.

People returning or arriving from the affected countries will be required to stay in isolation for 10 instead of 14 days, if their test for coronavirus infection (COVID-19) performed no earlier than on the eighth day of isolation is negative. If the test is not done, the person will be required to stay in isolation for 14 days.

From 15 September, every traveller returning to or arriving in Lithuania by regular, special or charter transport by air, sea, or land, will have to electronically submit their personal data to the National Public Health Centre. This means that before boarding a plane, ferry, bus, or train, a traveller will have to fill in a form on the website of the National Public Health Centre, and present the confirmation received, the QR code, at the time of boarding.
