Oslo Innovation Week 2025: Lithuanian–Norwegian Space Industry Forum
On 22 October 2025, during Oslo Innovation Week, the Lithuanian–Norwegian Space Forum “Advancing Space Innovation through Cooperation” was successfully held. The event was organized by the Embassy of Lithuania in Norway in collaboration with the Lithuanian Professionals in Oslo (LPO), the Innovation Agency Space HUB LT and Norwegian Industrial Forum for Space Activities (NIFRO). The forum brought together leaders from the space sectors and academic communities of both countries to foster collaboration, share expertise, and explore new innovation and business opportunities.
Participants were welcomed by Žana Tarasė, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Lithuania. During the forum, achievements of national space programs were presented, discussions were held on the latest trends, sectoral challenges, and the role of small space ecosystem players in strengthening European innovation and resilience.
During the event, the Lithuanian Defence and Space Industry Association and the Norwegian Industrial Forum for Space Activities (NIFRO) signed a Memorandum of Understanding, marking a key step in formalizing bilateral cooperation in the space sector.
The day after the event, at the premises of the Norwegian Space Agency, the Lithuanian delegation held meetings with Norwegian companies – Space Norway, S&T, and Kratos Defence – to discuss practical cooperation directions and potential joint projects.
Lithuania’s strengths in laser communications, satellite reliability, and space life sciences naturally complement Norway’s capabilities in satellite infrastructure, maritime surveillance, and Arctic research. Partnerships such as NanoAvionics and Kongsberg demonstrate how joint innovation can deliver real-world solutions with international significance.
This forum marks a new chapter in Lithuanian–Norwegian space cooperation, providing a platform for knowledge exchange, innovation development, and the creation of new partnership opportunities.
