Storebrand Baltic made close to 2 mln litas investment

Storebrand Baltic, with the recent addition of an IT development branch, is the fastest growing company in the Norwegian Storebrand Group. In the last 12 months Storebrand Baltic hired over 30 skilled developers and aim to double the number in the next 12-18 months.

“As existing employees have been showing outstanding capability, the Group decided to expand the scope of local responsibility by adding teams that were not included in the original hiring plan”, says Siw E. Seland, CEO of Storebrand Baltic.

Such a quick growth required an expansion of premises in Vilnius. A new office space investment of nearly 2 million litas was made. Storebrand Baltic IT employees work in cross-border teams across Lithuania, Norway and Sweden and cooperate on a daily basis. The company provides professional training in-house and uses a wide scale of Agile methodologies.

While aiming at establishing cooperation with Lithuanian universities and to contribute to educational system development, the company launched a new internship program last summer which was followed by successful hires at the Storebrand Baltic IT department.

The company’s long-term development and communication strategy brought to life the Play IT concept, which represents the IT department’s working atmosphere: we combine work with exciting leisure activities. One of the newest examples is Techno Space, smart ideas implementing lab.
