Strengthening Norway and Lithuania's Cooperation for a Sustainable Future in the Construction Industry

Conference "Constructing the Future: What's Next for Norway's Building Industry?" held in Oslo.

On November 6, a conference "Constructing the Future: What's Next for Norway's Building Industry?" held in Oslo, was organized by the Embassy of Lithuania in Norway, the Lithuanian-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce (LNCC), and DNB. The event brought together experts and representatives from Lithuania and Norway's construction, furniture, CleanTech, PropTech, and other sectors to discuss the most pressing challenges and opportunities shaping the future of Norway's construction industry.

Participants were welcomed by Lithuanian Embassy Minister-Counselor Žana Tarasė and LNCC Chairman Hans Petter Evensen. During the event, DNB's Kyrre Aamdal presented an economic overview of the construction sector, Magnus Meland Røed shared his insights on the industry's shift toward sustainability, and Vitalis Pavlovas from Norway’s Statsbygg (the Directorate of Public Construction and Property) discussed how new regulations, trends, and market demands are shaping sector projects. Karolis Šišlauskas from Utleiemegleren analyzed rental market changes, and Aušra Vankevičiūtė from Staticus Group discussed strategies for enhancing competitiveness and adapting to market challenges. Cecilie Blyt from the Directorate for Administration and Financial Management (DFO) shared valuable insights on sustainability principles in Norwegian public procurement.

Conference participants also had the opportunity to establish strategic partnerships during a B2B session and dinner. We extend our thanks to all partners, speakers, moderator Pelin Hizal Smines, and attendees for their active participation and insights.
