 “Lithuania and Norway - 25 years after”

As Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Lithuania, Mr. Vytautas Landsbergis played a crucial role in the restoration of Lithuanian independence 25 years ago. Under his leadership, Lithuania resisted the armed violence and blockade of the USSR, proclaimed reestablishment of the independent state of Lithuania on 11 March 1990, and achieved in 1991 international recognition for its restored independence.
